- organise evidence already supplied
- surface uncertainty and disagreement
- preserve the original rationale
- retain expected responses and review points
- compare later observations with the original record
- help staff revisit what changed
The next challenge is a decision. The review should remember why.
When a player trains up, plays up, changes role or enters a more demanding environment, staff make a judgement based on evidence, context and professional experience.
SignalReview is exploring a lightweight way to preserve that reasoning inside the existing Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and review process, then return to it when new evidence arrives.
Not another player score. Not another standalone form. Not an AI making pathway decisions.
This record is designed to sit inside an academy's existing ILP or player-review workflow. It is not intended to create a parallel reporting process.
Preserve the reasoning before hindsight changes it.
The structure is deliberately bounded: enough to remember the judgement, the player's understanding, the expected response and the review trigger without creating a second administrative workflow.
Main evidence, observations, uncertainty and disagreement behind the current view.
The individual development problem or objective being tested.
For example: train up, play up, bounce game, different role, higher physical demand or another exposure.
Why this opportunity or challenge is happening and what it is intended to develop.
Concrete observable responses that would suggest the challenge is appropriate.
A defined review point or observable trigger.
What actually happened?
Did we see the expected response?
Decision: Keep pushing / modify the challenge / pull back / reassess the original view.
Structure without replacing football judgement.
SignalReview can preserve and organise a reviewable record. Football staff remain authoritative for the player-development decision.
- interpreting the player and context
- deciding whether evidence is meaningful
- choosing the development challenge
- communicating the challenge to the player
- changing or stopping the intervention
- owning the final player-development decision
SignalReview does not automatically decide selection, promotion, loan placement, retain/release or player pathway.
Challenge the workflow against a real review process.
Academy Decision Review is currently under methodology evaluation. It is not yet a deployed or commercially validated club product.
Synthetic or anonymised workflow examples are sufficient. Please do not send player-identifiable or sensitive player information at this stage.
